Here are my obligatory snow photos. Our power has been fluctuating last night and today, but hopefully I can get this posted...I wouldn't want y'all to miss seeing one more snow snapshot!
Here in Texas (especially North and East) we are going to be like old veterans of some far off war, swapping stories of how we survived the blizzard of nought ten!
But I have promised one day to keep,

"Snow, those glistening houses that seem to be built with snow."~Irving Berlin
I was born and raised in North Texas, McKinney as a matter of fact and the closest thing I've ever seen to this was the ice storm of '78. We went to bed New Year's eve and woke to everything covered in ice....with no power for a week!
This was amazing to see. There was no wind, not even a breeze and it came straight down in these lovely, huge, fluffy flakes! I tried to take a photo of the back yard last night...everything was pink...but it didn't show the color. You'll just have to trust me...it was the most beautiful rosy pink...sky to ground!

I thought snow pics were mandatory :-)
Who needs electricity when you've got Cat Daddy? Your snow is be-a-u-tiful! No snow here in swamp land! :(
I'm ecstatic that you TX girls are enjoying the snow. As a novelty, it truly is a wonder. Enjoy! Love the photos of snow on the birdbath! XOX
Great photos! Looks like Minnesota! The first snowfall is always so pretty! After a couple months though...grrrrr and brrrrr!
We call my Explorer and "Exploder", too! So much snow! Oh, my goodness. Stay safe!

Well, we here in Syracuse NY took a vote a couple of weeks ago and decided that all of you should get the snow this year. Do you like our gift? So far it's working out great for us...not much but a sputter here and there for us...and...I dare say...you have more than we do right now. We're ok with it, I mean...we get to do this all the time and our normal average is about 116.9" (so far we have about 74"). So Deb...I just wanted to make sure you were enjoying our gift...the gift of snow (we're really ok with it if you want to keep it there. ) ENJOY! Tami
You know, I have to say all the pictures of the snow are just beautiful. I love to "look" at pictures of snow. I'm a wuss when it comes to cold weather and I don't understand a lot of things about snow. We get a bit of rain here and its like the biggest storm to ever hit the earth! Thanks for posting the pictures, they really are beautiful. Our week-end forecast here is sunny, upper 70's!
Take care, Sue
What beautiful phots, Deb. I hope you are enjoying your "white" surprise. It's always funner when you can sit inside and look at it out the window. We usually always get snow since we live at a higher elevation, but not this year. It's been very mild and warm weather. That's okay with me since I really don't like having to worry about getting my kids to school and driving in it.
Enjoy your weekend and hope you get some Valentine's hugs & kisses from Cat Daddy.
Kathleen
Woah girl, that is some snow. So glad to see that Mother Nature decided to send some white stuff somewhere besides the east coast :) Have good weekend!
hmmmmm I don't know about you but ole Irving Berlin has a little obsession with snow, don't ya think? Wash my hair with snow? And mention it not once but twice? ewwwww. Maybe he's never been to our snows in the muddy south. oh well.
I have to tell you...it's gorgeous Deb...simply gorgeous!
Stay warm and don't be doing nothin' that I wouldn't be doin'. This kind of weather causes a little baby boom...behave!
;)

New snow is so beautiful...your photos are just great. BUT, snow in Texas...what's up with that???
Hope the lights stay on...and you stay toasty warm.
oooxxx
This is just amazing.
I'm from Dallas, and I've never seen the likes of that, either.
Those are wonderful photos! Stay warm!
Warm hugs from Sunny South Texas!

You walked out to the travel trailer really?.?. :P
Funny thing is, I grew up in N Central Tx but live in Colorado now. My brother says they got a foot down Weatherford way. Here in Colorado Springs, NO SNOW. No lie. Oh well...we'll be having a snow storm when y'all are planting petunias!
Judy
Great photos! Thank goodness you have Cat Daddy to keep you warm and toasty!
Bonnie
Can you believe this snow?? We are so not used to this much in Texas, huh? My hubbie and I were just talking about the snow in '78 when we were kids...isn't it funny how we remember those things? LOVE your quotes along with the photos!!
Stay warm!
I can's believe you are getting all of that snow..
The photos are beautiful. Have a Happy Valentine's Day with your CD. sandi
Deb,
Loving all of your SNOW photos and of course they are even more meaningful bc it is right here in our part of the world..wishing it would do this every year with a promise we will all have electricity! Hope you and Cat Daddy have a great Valentines weekend!

Now that's what I call snow. Love the picture of the old trailer, it would make a neat playhouse.
It also snowed here in the coastal south! I think we can forget about our palm trees.
Sissie
Thats some fine Texas snow! Really pretty. The no power thing? not so much
BEAUTIFUL!!! My mom called me on Thursday telling me that she was getting a “Snow Day” from work.
I Am SO JELOUS!!! The only thing that we have had here in San Antonio is rain :(
It is beautiful! The last time I remember a snow of any real consequence in north Texas, I was about 12 years old. I don't know how many inches it was, but more than 3 or 4 and well less than this one. I read there was one almost this big in 1964, but I was too young to remember it. So this is truly the "snow of a lifetime" for me. I'm enjoying it!
Don't you just love all that snow?? I love all your photos of the snow, especially the trailer....I think you got more than we did. It looks pretty deep at your house.
I think we got around five inches.
Stay warm!!!
Oh my goodness. I am so lucky up here. I will quit whining, I really will. At least for a little bit. I have daffodills blooming, and dreamed of hummingbirds last night.
Great Snow pictures and LOVED the quotes!
Valarie
I'm banging my head on my desk... and loving your pictures... but still, I'm banging my head... why the heck could I not have some snow? LOLOL I even bought extra batteries (yes, instead of food) for my camera in my high hopes?
geesh.
Thanks for getting me droolin'!!!
xoxoxoxo

OMG, I am soooo jealous... You all got more! We ended up with about 6 inches here in NC... but it is all gone today! The trailer pic is my fav! Hope you are doing well, getting ready to hit the shower and head to the antique mill for work (where I think I live these days!) Big Hugs, Janna
Beautiful photos, Debbie. We still haven't had any new snow up her in snow country for about 6 weeks! Cannot believe it. Your garden looks lovely though. p.s. I don't recommend the bed rails for skis :)
Unbelievable!! My son called from Henderson the other night and said it was snowing so hard he couldn't hardly see how to drive up Hwy. 79! He said they were having a ball playing in the snow! That's just crazy!
Stay warm! TOT
Gorgeous photos Deb. Looks like you live anywhere BUT Texas! I am glad you got to experience all that beauty. Hope you enjoyed it. We are expecting 6 more inches tonight, on top of the 18 already on the ground.I love snow but hate the mess when it thaws. Have a happy Valentine's day, Pam
