The Handwriting Is On The Wall

I thought I would share a little more info I've gleaned in my studying. Did you know cliches are to be avoided at all costs...not that I would ever be guilty of beating that dead horse! Putting it into a nutshell, it's acceptable to use one as a title just not within the body. The trick is to be original in thought. Needless to say, I think I got this one licked with one hand tied behind my back! After all, this isn't rocket science, so I'll stop making a mountain out of a molehill on this subject and get down to the real nitty gritty!Talk about gritty...between taxes, Winnie & Tulula's, life and getting ready for the trip to the Mother Ship, the house has gone to wrack and ruin! I'm talking about getting down and dirty here. Take a gander at this table we bought! Ain't she a beaut? I know, I know...she's rough as a cob and may not be everybody's cup of tea, but some like carrots...others like cabbage! Cat Daddy and I happen to love cabbage. When we get through with her, she will be smooth as silk and pretty as a picture...I promise. I love the apron on her. She has a solid bottom under that top and I think we may try and hinge the top...won't that just make you flip your lid?
She's just one of the finds we will be taking this spring and at the end of the day, it's not always about what you bring to the table, but it sure does help if the table is this good!

Squirrel!!!

Before I forget, I need to dish some dirt about a contest going on in the Golden State and by that I mean California. Sue's store, Country Roads Antiques has been nominated for Best Antique Shop in Orange County. Haven't you always dreamed of being tall, blond, and tan? Here's your chance to pretend you are all those things. It's really as easy as falling off a log! Just go here and cast your vote 'cause after all...actions speak louder than words.

Let's just cut to the chase and tell it like it is. Country Roads is a wonderful collection of vendors who are more like family than business associates. Sue is one of my favorite people ever and I would do just about anything to help her and I know she would be first in line to help me if I needed it. (A friend in need is a friend indeed!) Her store is a success story of what you get when you put in long hours, work hard and treat your customers with care and respect. She lives the Golden Rule...not by words...but with actions. So, please go over and cast your vote. By doing so, you are casting a vote for every antique shop owner and the blood, sweat and tears that goes into making it successful and isn't that what so many of us dream of being...a success?
After spending my entire Saturday at W&T's I am tired to the bone so I think I'll close now and hit the hay. Remember...VOTE...pretty please?

Here's mud in your eye!

Good Golly Deb, I have been missing a lot! Your blog seems to have disappeared from my sidebar so I did not know you were back from hiatus. Got that word? Does good golly count as a cliche? You made me LOL. I am completely guilty of both of those faux pas but that's just me. DO NOT change your ways cause you are perfect just the way you are. Why mess with perfection? I am kicking myself for missing out on all your fun, but I am caught up now. I will take the bull by the horns and find out where your blog went on my sidebar. Hugs, Pam

So you are telling me that snakes don't travel in pairs and storms don't follow the river? WHAT??? You know what is cliche...folks telling other folks how to write! Girl, you take that country sense of humor and go to town! You make your own rules and show em how to skin a rabbit! Thanks for promoting our friend, Sue...she is one of a kind, a thing of beauty, a diamond in the rough, a force to be reckoned with and the cat's meow! Vote for Sue...she will put a chicken in every pot!

I had to go back to BH and look for the apron, because when you first mentioned checking them out..I got stuck on their blog looking at all the cute farm animals. Lovely apron, very nice choice of fabric!

I love your table because it's evident someone else has loved it for years!

I like my cabbage with vinegar.

That was as good as good gets. I pity the fool who tries to say anything different. The table rocks my world in a big way. Can't wait to watch the magic at Zapp again. You and Cat Daddy sure know how to wave the magic wand and show us what you've got. I am soo not good at this. Thanks for the memories! (I'm bad at this actually) ~Mindy

Ha ha, you crazy girl, one post on the Bible Study I had so many mixed metaphors I almost had a give-away for anyone that could name them all. I just couldn't resist. I had fun with it. I don't know if anyone else caught on.
I'm going to go vote for Sue!
Oh, Debbie, "stickles" is glitter glue in a really fine line. makes us old girls who can't see well feel like we can still be artists! LOL
