By Invitation Only

Helen Louise and Debra Lynn cordially invite you to participate in the 100th Post/Giveaway/Birthday Celebration February 13, 2009.Aw heck y'all, I just can't do it. I know Mother would want me to be all fancy schmancy with engraved invites and return envelopes for your R.S.V.P.'s, but it's not me and besides I'm too lazy! I also thought my money would be better spent for my special giveaway prize to be announced later. Stamps and cards? Presents? Which would YOU rather have. So here's the dirt. This Friday I will be posting my 100th post. For those of you who have been keeping up, I have been doing posts leading up to this milestone(millstone?) beginning with the 93rd. This is the 98th post. Every time y'all have a left a comment on a post, your name has been put in the champagne bucket to be drawn out Friday night at Midnight!!! The winner will be announced Saturday, Valentine's Day! On Friday I will be hostessing the party with Helen Louise. BTW, isn't she gorgeous? If you tell me I look just like her, I will blow you a kiss! This was her Senior Prom photo 1943. Kerri(Sister Trash) and I still have the dress and corsage. It's in S.T.'s possession right now. I will be presenting my version of me per a mannequin. I'm planning on being much younger and thinner. I'm encouraging all of y'all to join in on the fun and dress yourself or a facsimile and post it as well. If you do, I'll add your names an additional time. Leave me a R.S.V.P.(translate that to comment) that you plan on stopping by with your dates, (You do have a date...I hope you made a date...I told you to get a date...I'm not sharing Harry...You can still bid on Cat Daddy...Pick a date out for gosh sakes!) and if you will be posting photos. I'll add a link to your blog if I know you're coming. I've been putting things in the box that I will be mailing to the winner, but the Grand Prize is a doozy!!! It's my way of saying thanks to all of you. I can't afford the airfare to travel to see all of you and give you a hug, but I wish I could. So consider this a long distance hug from me to you. I only started blogging in August, but this has been the most fun I think I've ever had with my clothes on. Get your minds outta there...I think bubble baths are fun too! Some of you have been along for the ride beginning in August, some of you are new. I'm getting to meet some of the most wonderful and talented people doing this and I thank God for blessing me with this adventure. So to quickly recap, leave a comment(ask if you don't know how), get name in bucket, show up Friday, leave comment, get name in bucket one final time, have fun and possibly win!!! In case you were wondering, Lulu, I and my family members are ineligible to win. Someone needs to tell Sister Trash that. Look what she tried to slip by me. Kerri's prom circa 1972. I think that's it for now. If you have any questions, the Q&A Department is listed just below.

Yes, please dress for Friday! I'm sorry about no paragraphs in this post. It looks like I never took a breath between thoughts and probably is hard as heck to read. Silly blogger or silly me. Debbie

Just found you. Came over from..... Where was I? There were distractions.... That was over an hour ago..... Don't remember. Anyway, I love your style! Will you let a stranger come to the party? I promise not to do anything illegal. I can't quite decide on the dress or date. The hubs doesn't like to party, so I'll just have to find a replacement. For that night! Not forever!

Your mother was a beautiful girl. And your prom picture reminds me a whole lot of my prom picture a year later. We had the same hair and same style dress, only mine was floral cotton. Can you imagine the girls these days wearing a *cotton* dress to the prom?

You know I am in, I never win a thing!!! This could be my lucky day! Maybe..... I will post a pic of my date all spiffed up, that would be better than a Ball Gown pic anyday. If you can just see the picture I have ready to go nothing too bad though) just hysterical, you will agree!!! Tottles for now!

Your mother is beautiful but I'm thinking you look younger!!!! (OK does that get me a toss or two in the bucket?) And check YES to that RSVP....been looking for me a dress on all those wedding blogs this week. You know they just don't look like 1970s wedding dresses anymore! I've seen some pretty hot ones! You girls are a hoot and you're making me smile ear to ear! I think my mother was one of the most beautiful women ever...thank you for agreeing with me.

Cher--You sound confunsed, hon. Need directions?
Maggie-The bid has been raised by a honey baked ham. It'll probably take all of you, he's quite the handful. Did I mention he's current on all his shots?
Renee--get a coat hanger, hook it in the top of the zipper and LIFT! It sometimes help to lie down on the bed-just make sure you're alone.
Debie--My manni can whup your manni with no arms tied behind her back!
Mindy--Somewhere there is a photo of me in a seafoam moire satin gown(empire, no less) circa 1969 photo. Sister Trash and I just can't find it and I looked GOOD!

I'm there! At least my lovely, slightly thinner double will be there. I'm not sure I could squeeze back into my one and only fancy dress by Friday. My shaping pantyhose would really have their work cut out for them. In any case, I'll be there and I'll be posting picts of course.

I've been outbid by a honey-baked ham?? Let's see.... what can top that? Hmmmmmm. I'm not much of a cook -- but I'll up the bid by some of my momma's homemade potato salad and her fantastic deviled eggs! And I bet I can get a tin of her yummy bourbon balls! They are the bomb.com!!! Guess I better call my mom and tell her to start cooking!!

Y'all better get busy. It looks like Maggie the Cat may end up with my man for the evening. It's now a frito chili pie, plate of cookies, peach cobbler, six pack of long necks, honey baked ham, potatoe salad, deviled eggs AND bourbon balls. (The menu is set) What am I bid now? Did I mention he has a tool belt?

Rumor has it Johnny will be attending. I hope he doesn't get upset with me being with Harry.

And yes Marie, I must always have too much fun!

Oh and FYI, Marcie at Unique Unique and Malisa at Moonlight Hollow each get an extra name in the bucket. Go check them as to why.

Oh - I love this! And I had a prom dress myself in 1972 that was purple lame velvet with crepe sleeves, trimmed with lace. Even though it would never fit me again, I sure do wish I still had it! Just so I could look at it, and remember.

carlene federer said...

You are too funny! I am lol about the mannequin, the prom & auctioning off your hubby!!! :)

Carlene, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do to earn a dollar these days. I got a party to pay for!
Girls, if you don't have a manni and you don't want to get out of your p.j.s, post an old prom photo or heck someone else's photo. Just play and have a good time!
Debbie

I want to play trash....count me in....my giveaway drawing is with the morning coffee (12th)...your name is in the photos.

My ONLY question... will there be any Frito Pie and Sweet Tea, or will we be expected to float our own treats to this Trash Ball? Seems if a girl (of an age, mind you) wants some folks to show up (get their hairs dyed, get their current boyfriends --at separate times, of course--- to paint their toe nails and you know, shave above the knee and all) that you'd be mentioning something like Pralines or Sweet Potato Pie.... maybe Pecan (only because Mama didn't make it for my birthday and I'm pouting). So, if you plan to feed me ("ride me, feed me" and don't take that the way I didn't mean it) then hell, throw my name in the pot and make dang sure Cat Daddy picks me. And I'll get some more of that sticky stuff at Target to keep my Dolly Partons from presenting themselves too early and upstaging the auction. (Not that ANYTHING can steal the spotlight from "The Cat"...

Happy Thursday, Deb...can hardly wait till Friday midnight!! *elaine*
