Chipster P.R.

My girls called me yesterday fit to be tied and smack dab in the middle of a "come apart".(Their words, not mine!) It seems that Miss Tillie had cancelled their standing appointments at the Curl Up And Dye Beauty Parlor and they were forced to fix each other's hair! Oh the indignity!!! In fact, they were asked not to attend any flower club meetings, bridge dates or any and all functions at the Country Club, including, but not limited to dances. They asked me to please make a P.S.A. that swine is NOT the same as honey baked. So in the interest of resurrecting their social life, they will now be referred to as The Two Headed Woman until further notice.
Hopes this gets you back in, girls!

My 21-year old daughter recently asked me... "so mom... what did you do before there were blow dryers?" Oh how I wish I'd had this photo... maybe I'll just direct her to this post! LOL

hey... we have a "curl up and dye" down here too... must be a Texas thang... ;)

I had one of those hair dryers, mine was blue. It blew up one day as I put the plug in the socket. Thankfully, I wasn't electricuted! I also remember Toni home permanents and hot rollers!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Yes I think my mom used them on my hair when I was a baby! HAHA But i remember using one of those BLOW dryers! We also had one of those light blue metal hair dryers probably from the 50s which lasted until probably the 80s. Boy they don't last that long today!

This is so funny! My mother had one of those dryers with the bonnet you put on your head!

BTW, I did tell my husband I was sheltering in place in B'ham! I told him I was feeling good, however, about survival......he was not amused!

Have a great day!!

I remember when!!

My mom had a round pink box with that hose and bonnet thing...she preferred the hair dresser but occasionally she had to use that pink box thang.

LOVE that photo and the memories!

Yes, unfortunately I was forced to break out my pink foam rubber rollers for the day. And Lulu wanted a spray on tan, but all I had was some Coppertone, so that will have to do, orange and all. Lauri@chippys
