Eye Of The Beholder...Part Deux

Jump with me into the Way Back Machine and take a second look at these chairs I showed you that I was going to have redone. Remember? Y'all thought I was crazy, right? While I thought they looked very "George Jetson", some of y'all thought they looked like, well, to put it as genteelly as possible, Crap!!!
I got them back today and oh baby...look at 'em now!
I haven't even placed them yet. I was so pleased at how they turned out that I couldn't wait to show y'all. Please tell me you approve!
I chose a hounds tooth fabric and I'm happy that I did. The couch, which is even cooler, is going to be done in white pleather just as soon as I can catch enough pleaths to cover it. They are tricky little animals to trap, but no trickier than a cat daddy! I thought I would do the buttons on it in the hounds tooth. What do you think? Maybe some apple green throw pillows for contrast? You can be honest with me as long you as you lie and agree with me!
I was going to resell them, but now I'm not so sure. I may just have to keep these for just a little while. That's what we do in the junking business...the original recycling center.
BTW, are you digging these lamps I got at T.J. Maxx? Again, they are not where they will be, but I just couldn't wait! I told y'all I was heading in a whole new direction and I wasn't lying. I am all about the white and black.
Real quick before I sign off...I wanted to show you Malissa's mixed media art I am selling at Winnie & Tulula's. Isn't it fantastic?
She has really got an eye and the talent for this. I am very proud to have it on display in my space. Now you really do have a good excuse to go and shop at Winnie's and Tulula's...you can be a supporter of the arts. While you're at it, howsa about supporting my habit, too?

I never thought they were Crap...I thought they were too cool and they are! Love the new look you did. Yeah apple green would be cool as would hot pink or red or flaming orange or neon yellow! I've got those same curtains in my guest room along with that wall color. Great minds!

Coolest chairs...I bet you could get a lot for them at Warrenton. Enjoy them till then. Love the black and white houndstooth. If you're like me, you'll think of tons of fabric that would go with or on them. Were they expensive to cover? Very cool.

Debbie I loved those chairs from the start. Now they are Fab U Lous. I am torn between loving vintage 30's and 40's and the next day 60's and 70's. I love it all. The lamps are kind of beachy like a big retro sea urchin. Apple green would be great with the chairs. Isn't it fun to "keep" things a while before selling? T hope you don't get bitten by a pleath. I hear they are poisonous (but oh so retro chic). Hugs, Pam

My mother told me that if I didn't have anything good to say, not to say anything at all. (that was about the chairs)
Now that I'm back...I'm catching up on all what I've missed here so watch out!!!!!!!
Just kidding about the chairs...well, okay...I approve!

Jodie,my momma always said if you don't have anything nice to say, come sit by me!
Pam, they are made to look like sea urchins. Isn't that just tray sheek! (as we say here in Hooterville)
Donna, I have a friend that does upholstery so I was able to get the friends and family discount.
Patti, I told you we were twins...great minds indeed!
David, ru roh is right if Astro tries to sit on these!

Our Malisa? Really? Well, I'll be darned! Isn't she the talented one? I look forward to seeing those works of art up close and personal. IF they are still there by the time I get back to Athens!

You know, the whole key to this business is seeing the "after" not the "before". You've got a good eye and will do really well at your new business! And props to you for selling Malisa's art. I offered to sell it in my store, but now she can keep it close to home and reap the rewards or her awesome talent. Thanks for the great pictures and sharing your "vision"!

Take care, Sue

Margo, don't they remind you of the seats from a vintage muscle car?
Mindy, I hope they sell quick! She is so gifted.
Sue, You are too sweet. My life is nothing but a bunch of "before" and "after" pictures. I figure what doesn't sell I can take with me to Warrenton where they will sell fast.

Debbie, I really took one look at those chairs and thought, nothing could be done to those chairs to make me like them. You know, I like them, you picked a wonderful fabric for them. Job well done, lady!! Sandi

I have to admit that I'm really surprised at how well those chairs came out. I didn't have much hope for them, but they are fabulous. You've got quite the eye for design. I wish you were in NY, you could help me out with my new house.

What color do you have you walls painted in the pictures with those chairs?

Debbie, thanks for the sweet comment. Could someone say "Beam me up Scotty"? I think the touch of green could be the seat belts.

A definite improvement cause though i did not say "crappola" before, it did cross my mind- though I have been known to peel back upholstery on almost anything for a redo...(kinds like furniture plastic surgery). Hey, speaking of sneaky creatures- guess what I saw today- just a standin in the middle of the dang road and on City Wide Garage Sale Day to boot? A fox. Swear to God. 9 AM. Guess they gullywashers we had last night drowned him out of his den- he looked a fright, that's how I knew it wasn't a girl fox. Cute little guy and I did NOT hit him...even though my Daddy used to tell me to hit coons and fox straight on and that'll keep them out of the chicken coop- I just couldn't. The rainstorm was hard on everyone. Ever have one of those disoriented days?
