D-DAY

Saturday was delivery day for Cat Daddy & I. We had several stops to make in East Texas, beginning in Athens. Our first delivery was at The Sweet Pea Collection in Athens at 219 N. Palestine, just off the square. Gloria is getting ready for her show-Fall into Warrenton. There was a lot of activity going on with pricing, wrapping, pulling, and staging mdse for the loading of a trailer. Anybody who does this show, knows you have to literally build a shop in the middle of a cow pasture and Gloria does it like nobody else. She doesn't believe in coloring between the lines, but she is real stickler for details. She was a little hesitant about pix because of all the work going on, but where she saw chaos, I saw fab-u-lous! I mean look at the pix-signature, custom furniture, linen clothing, candles, organic soaps, beautiful bedding, dried botanicals. What else could a girl ask for to transform a house into a home. Drop in and see her the next time you're in the area. And FYI, Curious Goods girls are not far in Malakoff and there is a winery in the area. Make a day of it. (P.S. You can find Gloria in Warrenton just west of the Gin tent)
Our next stop was in Mabank to deliver the cutest cabinet. One of our daughter's best friend is an artist and scrapper and she saw the potential in this cabinet and wanted it for her studio. Her husband Kevin and our son have been friends for 31 yrs., so needless to say, they are part of our extended family. But I digress. After we unloaded the cabinet, he insisted on buying our lunch and since Beans & Burgers just happens to be in Mabank----well, you know. Let me just say, they have the best, hand cut fries around! (adj.: YUH'-MEE) Thank goodness we were in the truck or C.D. would've had to roll me home.
I had an appt. at the house that afternoon with two fun chicks and the baby junkette in-training, who came by to shop and let me say, they got some really cute stuff.(I can say that, even if it was my stuff. Which, btw, I still have great stuff , so call or come by if you get the chance.)
After a day like this, C.D. and I were t-i-r-e-d, but in a good way, ykwIm.

Holy cow. Is that a temporary shop. Absolutely gorgeous. You and Cat Daddy seem to have the packing up and delivering down. What fun! One of these days I will make it to Warrenton. I travel to San Antonio occasionally when my husband goes to Piedras Negra, Mexico for business. He crosses at Eagle Pass Texas. (I stay in San Antonio where it's pretty and comfy.) I will have to plan around a junking road trip next time and make a weekend of it. (My husband has the junking bug too, or maybe he has just been humoring me all these years) Maybe we were separated at birth, my mom and dad did live in Texas for a while when he was in the Air Force...P.
